Completely Wireless

Well, we've finally gone wireless for our internet. The cable guy came yesterday and hooked us up and we got everything installed last night, so this is my first post on our new laptop with wireless internet. It is so great and I don't know how I lived without it before. I would love to have broadband but we will see how this works first. We still have our land line for now because Steve had to send his phone back yesterday because it had some dust behind the screen. Once we get his phone back we will cancel our land line and then we will live a completely wireless lifestyle.

Which Polyhedral (what?!) Are You?

I am a d20

Take the quiz at dicepool.com

This survey is completely scientific. Despite the mind-boggling complexity of mankind, the billions of distinctly different personalities found on Earth can easily be divided into seven simple categories that correspond to the five Platonic solids, a pseudo polyhedron, and whatever the hell a d100 is. The results of this quiz should be considered not only meaningful but also infallible, and pertinent to your success as a fully realized individual. If you feel the results of this examination do not match your perceived personality, you should take whatever drastic measures are needed to cram your superego back into proper alignment, as described by the quiz results.

And if you believe that, we have some really great critical-hit insurance to sell you.

Razr Sharp

I got my new pink Razr phone yesterday! Steve got a black one but I like my pink girlie phone. At first I didn't like it because it's a Motorola and I am used to using a Nokia phone which is much more user-friendly. I've pretty much figured out the important stuff now so I like it much better. I like having a camera phone too.

The reason we got new phones was because we decided that we are going to go completely wireless in our household. We got a new laptop because this computer that I am using now is extremely slow. On Friday the cable guy is coming out to set up our wireless internet. We're not going to get broadband yet because it is a little expensive so we are going to try 256k to start with and see how we like it. Anything has to be better than the dial-up I am using right now. For our phones we got a family plan. I have always had a cell phone but Steve has only ever had his through work so he can't use it as freely as he would like to. We have both always liked the Razr phones since they came out and so when I found a deal on the internet to get them for free with a new family plan account we decided to get them. I guess I shouldn't say they are free yet. We had to pay $200 to get them and then we are supposed to get a $200 rebate on them. When Steve got to work today and printed out the rebate forms he found out that we can't send for our rebate until the middle of June. What?! He called the company that we got the phones from to find out why we had to wait so long and its because they want a copy of the bill that we will get in May to make sure that we actually follow through with Cingular and set up an account. Geez. I have dealt with this company before and I didn't have to wait that long to send for my rebate but I guess they have changed their policy. Luckily, we are getting our tax refund soon so it isn't a problem for us to pay that money up front and wait that long to get our rebate.

Now, I have to go bug most of the people that are in my address book and take their pictures so that I can see their lovely smiling faces when they call me. :)

Growing Up

My baby boy is growing up. I can't believe how big he is already. I have no idea what he weighs or what his length is right now but he's getting big. That reminds me that I need to make an appointment for him to see the doctor for his 4 month checkup. He is already going to be 4 months old on the 15th. Whew!

I guess I can safely say that he is no longer a newborn. Last week he started rolling over from his tummy to his back. And, he can roll from his back to his side so it looks like he might start rolling over the other way pretty soon. He loves to play with his toys. We have this little gym that we set over him and he loves to reach for the toys that hang from it. And, he can now reach for the toys on the tray of his swing. He is also drooling all over the place. But, if he is like his sisters that doesn't mean that he will start getting his teeth anytime soon. The girls both started to get their teeth kind of late. They drooled for months before they got any teeth.

I hope this post doesn't sound like I am bragging about what my baby can do. I'm just trying to give an update of what milestones he has reached lately. It's neat but in a small way it also makes me a little bit sad because he is no longer a helpless little newborn. I do love this age though because he is not just a lump anymore. He is developing quite a happy personality and he is more like a member of the family. I love to hear him laugh and it melts my heart every time he looks up at me and smiles.

Crazy Weather

I can't believe the weather we have been having lately. You would think it was spring here already. Today is cloudy and not as nice, but we have been having some pretty good weather lately. Monday was a very nice day. When I went out in our backyard I actually felt warmth. The high for next Monday is supposed to be 47 degrees and we had a day last week where the high got close to 50 degrees. I know that may not sound warm to somebody from California or other warm weather places, but for North Idaho in February it is warm and weird. My dad was telling me the other day that the lowest temperature that he recorded at his house for the whole month of January was 25 degrees.

I am definitely not complaining about this weather. I love that it has been warmer and I can't wait for spring. I hope we don't have any more cold spells because we already have flowers coming up and Steve said the wisteria is starting to bud out. Oh spring, won't you come soon?
